Bukayo Saka Injured Against Crystal Palace; Games He Could Miss For Arsenal

Bukayo Saka injured against Crystal Palace as the Gunners head into the Christmas season in the top four with hopes of winning the League this time around after bottling it twice in a row.

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka may be sidelined until early February due to a hamstring injury sustained during the club’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace. Saka, who has ten Premier League assists this season, was withdrawn only 24 minutes into the game, much to the dismay of Gunners fans and staff. Manager Mikel Arteta expressed concern after the game.

The Times now reports that Saka might be AWOL for four to six weeks. Concerning, this is his second hamstring injury of the season, having missed games in October.

With a congested fixture list across three competitions and no Christmas break this season, Arsenal are scheduled to play 11 games in the next six weeks. Which is the number of games Saka might miss if he is judged unavailable for the longer term.

That run begins with a Premier League game against Ipswich Town on December 27th and includes the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool, an FA Cup third round tie against Manchester United, the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, two Champions League games, and a Premier League match against Manchester City.

Saka could return to action in the final week of January, just in time for the City match on February 2nd. When Arsenal returned from the November international break in stronger form, Arteta attributed it largely to greater player availability following an injury problem. But Saka’s suspension until many weeks into 2025 is a huge blow.
