Real Madrid 3-0 Pachuca: Los Blancos Win FIFA Intercontinental Cup; Player Ratings and Match Review. Kylian Mbappé, Rodrygo and Vinicius scored in a comfortable win for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid beat Mexican side Pachuca 3-0 on Wednesday at the Lusail Stadium to claim the first FIFA Intercontinental Cup. The opening minutes were a bit uneventful, but Real Madrid took the lead in the 37th minute.

The reigning European champions took control of the final thanks to a fantastic team goal from Vinícius Júnior, who dribbled past the Pachuca goalkeeper and provided a tap-in for Kylian Mbappé.

Real Madrid doubled their lead 8 minutes into the second half, which saw the Spanish side place a hand on the trophy after leading the Mexican team 2 goals to nil as of the 53rd minute. Rodrygo was the man who scored the second goal after he pretended to be shooting with his left foot on the edge of the penalty area before curling an exquisite finish into the bottom corner with his right.

CONCACAF champions Pachuca attempted to reduce the deficit in the closing stages by increasing their intensity, but Madrid scored a third in the 84th minute to end any slim hopes of a grandstand finish. Lucas Vázquez brought down in the penalty area, and Vinicius converted the penalty kick to secure the Intercontinental Cup for Los Blancos.
