Lamine Yamal ruled out of Atlético Madrid game after sustaining an injury in the first half against Leganés on Sunday evening. This unfortunate news was released by RAC1, a source close to the camp of Barcelona.
Yamal, who has already recovered from an ankle injury, suffered another injury last night at Montjuic against Leganés. He signalled to be changed in the first half, but rather continued until the second half.
The 17-year-old winger who has been the team’s most vital player this season was seen to be limping after a heavy tackle from the opposition player. Despite the recent reports, further tests will be carried out today to determine the extent of his injury.
Awaiting the official confirmation of the tests, it is practically ruled out that Lamine Yamal will not play feature in the game against Atlético Madrid next weekend. This will be a huge blow for the Catalan side against Diego Simeone’s in-form Atlético Madrid.
Atlético Madrid are currently tied with Barcelona on the League table with a game in hand. A win for Atlético Madrid will see them climb to the 1st position after Barcelona dropped three points against Leganés last night.
Lamine Yamal has been directly involved in 18 goals in 21 matches for the Catalan side this season (6 goals and 12 assists this season). His absence will probably see Ansu Fati occupy the LW and Raphinha move to his natural RW position.
