Chelsea trashed Barrow today, 23rd September 2024 in the 1/16 stage of the EFL Cup tournament. Chelsea managed to score five goals without a response from barrow. More details coming up in the write-up which follows.

Kick-off time was 18:45 GMT at Stamford Bridge (London), home to the blue devils of England. The game was officiated by Oliver Langford from England.

Barrow came away from home with a 4-2-3-1 formation starting Garner as their striker, Acquah, Spence, Newby, Foley, and Campbell in the middle, and Jackson, stokes, Vassell, and Feely as their last men with Farman as their goalkeeper.

Chelsea likewise played the same 4-2-3-1 formation starting Nkunku, Joao Felix, Neto, Mudryk, Casdei, Gusto, Disasi, Badiashille, Veiga and Dewbury-Hall with jorgensen as goalkeeper.

The game began on an easy note for the blues as they took an early lead in the 8th minutes of the game. It was a beautiful goal from Nkunku assisted by João Félix. 7 minutes thereafter, he doubled the lead for Chelsea. A classic one assisted by Gusto. At the 28th mark of the game, a goal supposedly scored by João Félix was ruled as an own goal by Farman to make the score line 3 for Chelsea and nothing for Barrow.

The first half of the game with a simple win for the blue devils. Chelsea managed to keep 72% ball possession, with 5 goals attempts and 3 goal attempts. Barrow on the hand made one goal attempt with no shots on goal.

The second half also took the same rhythm as the first half. It was all Chelsea showing absolute dominance. Neto made it four goals for Chelsea at the 48th mark of the game and in the 75th minute of the game Nkunku sealed everything up to make the goals 5 earning himself a hat-trick.

At the end of the game, Chelsea had 74% ball possession, made 16 goal attempts, with 8 shots on goal, whereas Barrow made 5 with 2 shots on goal.
