A mesmerizing second-half goal from ex-Chelsea player, Callum Hudson-Odoi gave Nottingham the lead over the reds. Liverpool 0-1 Nottingham Forest is a surprising result to all football fans.

Interestingly, this was Nottingham Forest’s first win at Anfield since 1969. Liverpool were not clinical enough, as they wasted numerous chances at Anfield. Luiz Diaz, almost broke the deadlock for the reds in the 17th minute after firing a shot off the near post. Mohammed Salah, although had a decent game, was troubled by fullback Alex Moreno. Forest’s goalkeeper, Matz Sels, brilliantly saved all the efforts from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mac Allister moments to the first half whistle. It was a frustrating first half for the reds as they couldn’t find the breakthrough. Nottingham Forest indeed deserved the praises for their impressive defensive efforts.

Into the second-half, the reds started to mount pressure again but resulted into nothing as Nottingham took charge to walk the reds alone in the Forest. Early attempts from Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White and Anthony Elanga were the beginning of their breakthrough.

Liverpool after severally trying to find the breakthrough exposed themselves to a counter-attack from Forest as Hudson-Odoi sent in a low effort in the far corner after cutting in. Manchester City are now the league leaders.
